When my husband was deployed, my 2-year-old slept in my bed with me. Well, one night, he pointed next to me and whispered that there was a monster there. One day, the girl I babysat was playing with her dolls, and she ripped the head off of one and put it in a box. I looked inside the box, and there were a whole bunch of stray heads in there. I asked her what she was doing this for and she replied, “Practicing.” I never babysat her again.

My husband is a farmer, and late one night I took my 4-year-old and 2-year-old to the field to pick him up from work. Well, while we were waiting for him to finish up, my 2-year-old asked, “Mommy, who dat man outside?” I responded, “I don’t see a man — is your Ken doll on the floor?” Then, my 4-year-old piped up and said, “He’s right outside your door, staring at you. He’s scary. He has blood on his face.”
I called my husband, told him to hurry the hell up, and we left. But my girls are now 5 years old and 7 years old, and they still remember that man and refuse to go to that field.

My best friend was cleaning out her dresser drawers one day when her 3 year old picked up a picture. She said, “Mommy! This was me when I was Grandma!” My friend said, “What?” Her daughter said, “You don’t remember? I was Grandma Marie.” and told a few stories which actually happened. This kept on for a few weeks, each of the stories being real events that my friend was part of. She would even mention names of other relatives she had never met or been told about before. For the record, it was my friend’s Grandma Marie in the picture. She died about a decade before the little girl was born, and since the girl was so young, my friend had never found it necessary to tell family stories to her or explain death yet. She’s four now and seems to have forgotten most of it.

I looked at the video monitor to make sure my 2-year-old daughter was finally asleep since she hadn’t made noise in awhile. I see her standing up in her crib. She slowly bends over to the side, cocks her head towards her knee, and says “hi”. How did she know I was looking at the monitor at that exact moment?!
