College textbooks prices in the U.S. have risen faster than health-care, housing, and inflation.
The average cost has risen four times faster than inflation over the past 10 years. That has caused 65 percent of students to skip buying required texts at some point. Many textbooks are bundled with internet “access codes” that expire at the end of the semester.
