The International Space Station is the most expensive object ever built, at US$150 billion.
The ISS cost more than US $150 billion to develop and build, with the United States covering most of that bill ($58.7 billion) and Russia ($12 billion), Europe ($5 billion), Japan ($5 billion), and Canada ($2 billion) also contributing.
NASA pays for most of the ISS running costs, spending about $4 billion a year.
