With the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals saying 1 in 5 Americans acquired a pet during the pandemic, 90.5 million U.S. homes now include a pet, according to the American Pet Products Association. And, collectively, they spent $103.6 billion on caring for them in 2020.
