More people in the world are suffering from obesity than from hunger.

While globally 820 million suffer from hunger, more than 830 million, including adults and minors, are obese or overweight.

Obesity is a medical condition in which excess body fat has accumulated to the extent that it may have an adverse effect on health, leading to reduced life expectancy and/or increased health problems. Body mass index (BMI), a measurement which compares weight and height, defines people as obese when BMI is greater than 30 kg/m2. The number of obese people in the world will increase from 650 million in 2016 to 1120 million in 2030.
