Thomas Edison proposed marriage to his wife through Morse code.
The inventor claimed that he had taught Morse code to Mina Miller so the two could converse privately at mutual gatherings. The story goes that Thomas Edison, after deciding Miller was the right woman for him, proposed to his future wife with Morse code during a car trip in 1885. She accepted and the couple married in 1886.
